Placer Toolkit uses multiple licences depending on the type of content. This page explains which parts are open source and which parts are protected.
Placer Toolkit library#
The Placer Toolkit source code is licensed under the MIT License, a very permissive open‐source licence. You are free to use, copy, modify and redistribute the software with minimal restrictions.

The written documentation—including guides, examples, explanations and code snippets inside the docs—is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
You are allowed to use, share, adapt and remix it, as long as you provide appropriate attribution.

- Adapt, remix, transform and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

Branding and marketing assets#
Some assets used throughout the documentation site are not open source and are not covered by the MIT License or CC BY 4.0. These include:
- Branding/marketing graphics
- Logo files
- Illustrations
- Images used for promotional purposes
- Certain UI visuals used only on the documentation website
These materials are all rights reserved and may not be reused without permission, even if those files are publicly available. If you’re not sure about the licence used for a file, you can ask us here.
